…God does not give him His Spirit sparingly or by measure, but boundless is the gift God makes of His Spirit!John 3:34
God doesn’t allot us a certain amount of His Spirit every day and if we use up the amount, that’s it, no more. God pours out His Spirit without measure. Our operation within it doesn’t have to be carefully considered or dolled out. We don’t have to use our strength for this thing and a measure of His Spirit for that thing. We can continually operate in His Spirit for all things.
I have the same amount of God’s Spirit when I’m praying as I do when I’m reading a book. I have the same measure of God’s Spirit to heal the sick as I do when I’m disciplining my children. God’s Spirit is without measure, made readily available for me in all circumstances.
The only measure there is is the amount that we receive and use.
What does this mean? It means every aspect of God’s Spirit is available to us without measure.
We have an immeasurable amount of Peace.
We have an immeasurable amount of Love
We have an immeasurable amount of Kindness.
We have an immeasurable amount of Grace.
We have an immeasurable amount of Mercy.
That also means that we can pour out His Spirit without measure.
When our kids mess up for the twentieth time that day, we can pour out God’s Loving-Kindness and and Mercy upon them. When that stranger in the car over cuts us off or steals our parking spot, we can pour out His Grace and Peace without measure. When something else goes wrong in a time of everything going wrong, we can pour out God’s Peace on that circumstance without measure.
What We Receive.
Whatever we receive and operate in is the amount that we can pour out on others. We must cultivate and practice walking in His Spirit without measure first, then, like the seeds from the garden of our heart, His Spirit will pour out through us onto the people and circumstances in our life.
God’s Spirit will first pour out and fill us up then overflow from us into the lives of others. The key to receiving and operating in His Spirit is having an earnest relationship with Him. As we deepen our relationship with Him, we gain the ability to access more of His Spirit. This isn’t an issue with God, it’s an issue with us. God pours out His Spirit without measure and we have to learn to walk in it without measure.
Thankfully we have a God whose Spirit is being poured out on us freely.
