It seems like there’s quite a few babies being born or about to be born, at least in my circle. For all the new parents out there, I want to share my favorite products for newborns. These are the products and companies I will always recommend to the pregnant women in my life.
My 6 Favorite Products for Newborns
Before I begin, I want to say that I am in no way affiliated with any company or store. If I share a company, it is because I genuinely like them. All products were bought by me and not gifted by company or store.
Burp Cloths from Copper Pearl
Oh man. I wish I had known about Copper Pearl when I had Ade. I’ve had homemade and store bought burp cloths and I can say with complete confidence that Copper Pearl has the best ones. They are so soft and absorbent. I never had to worry about them not being able to clean up a spit mess. The burp cloths come in packs of three and I always had one in my diaper bag.
Yet again, my favorite is from Copper Pearl. In fact, it’s what set me off on my CopperPearl journey (as well as changed my whole theme for Isbe’s room). Their swaddle blankets are so soft, I would cuddle with them. They have enough weight that made sure Isbe always slept well without being stifled. She never slept as well when I had to wrap her in other swaddles. They’re big enough that she could still be swaddled in it even after she turned two. I finally had to stop swaddling her because she was too heavy to carry that way. Even now, she’ll wrap up in it like a normal blanket.
With Ade I didn’t know the secret swaddle technique. We just could not get it down. So whenever we did use a swaddle, we used one that had Velcro on them. These are a must for any parent who just can’t get the swaddle technique down.
Mesh Crib Bumpers
Crib Bumpers do have an actual use besides being cute. They are a soft barrier between your baby and the hard crib bars, and they help keep little hands and feet from slipping through the bars. However, I was concerned about suffocation.
Thankfully we found these mesh crib bumpers. They had the padding needed without being solid like all the others I found. I used them with both kids and have gladly passed them on to my BFF.
Ade had a frog pacifier buddy and he loved it. In fact, he loved the frog more than the actual pacifier. The best part was the pacifier could detach for easy cleaning. I also liked it because it was a little something he could snuggle with wherever we went.
Unfortunately I couldn’t find the same kind for Isbe, so she just had the pacifier. I then learned that a pacifier buddy would’ve been helpful a few times when we lost her favorite pacifier in the house (and trust me, she knew the difference).
This Wubbanub Pacifier is similar to the one I had with Ade but it does not detach.
I only really used this with Ade but it was a definite time saver. Whether you’re on formula or you’re pumping and putting it in a bottle, you need a bottle warmer.
Pull Up Diapers
Okay so these are more for older babies, not newborns, since they only come in sizes 5+. However, I feel I would be remiss if I did not include these in this list of favorites.
These diapers are not potty training pants. They are actual diapers without the need to peel-and-stick the diaper together. They are perfect for the baby that is on the move. You know, the one who loves to roll over while you’re trying to change their diaper? Pull-Up Diapers make that chore a lot easier. Please, trust me and save yourself a headache.
