10 Random Things About Me

I’ve had this title planned out for awhile. Though I’m sure you guys could read my blog and have an idea of the kind of person I am, I thought I would give you guys some ten random facts about me.

~ I love History

History has always fascinated me. It’s the one subject I aced all through school. In fact, I’m currently thinking of taking some college courses on history. Probably my biggest disappointment when I had to change schools my sophomore year of High School was that the new school didn’t offer the A.P. History class I was signed up for at my old school.

~ I Enjoy Random Facts

I enjoy knowing the most obscure things and if something catches my attention, I’ll research it to its deepest, darkest levels. I can become obsessive with it until I know everything there is to know, or something else catches my attention. I’m always spouting off random information to my friends.

~ I Love Food with Blueberries in Them.

Bagels, waffles, pancakes, even smoothies. I love them all. Just don’t ask me to eat a blueberry by itself.

~ I Love Singing

I loved singing before I loved dancing. I remember singing while swinging during recess in elementary school. I was in choir from Middle School all through High School and even sang in my church’s worship team and youth band after I graduated. Unfortunately I don’t sing much around other people anymore. My last two surgeries further damaged my vocal cords and I no longer have the confidence that I did a few years ago.

~ I’m a Writer

Notebook full of Poetry and Lyrics

Okay, this one may seem obvious, but what I mean is I write beyond my blog. I also write books, poetry and lyrics. While I’m still unpublished, I do have a book finished that I hope to publish one day soon. I also have a little notebook my BFF gave to me one Christmas where I write all my poetry and song lyrics.

~ I’m the Crunchy Mom

This is according to my BFF. I found it so funny that I had to share her opinion. I’ve never really thought of myself that way. Due to my medical history and family health concerns, I just look for natural alternatives first. However, I fully believe that there is a time and place for pharmaceuticals.

~ I Do Not Enjoy Being Pregnant

Ade’s Baby Shower

Don’t get me wrong, I love my kids, but I hate being pregnant. I loved watching them grow and move around in my belly around the second trimester, but I could do without the rest of it. Being sick in the first trimester is just the beginning of my pregnancy dislikes. So it’s probably I good thing I…

~ I Dream of Adopting

I think I was in sixth or seventh grade when I first thought about adopting someday. That desire has only grown as I’ve gotten older. Even after birthing two kids, I still want to adopt. There are so many children out there who need loving and stable homes, and I want to give that kind of home to them.

~ I Prefer Being Barefoot

I like shoes, I think there’s some really cute ones out there, and I spent almost six years wearing a pair of heels daily. However, if I have a choice then I’m going to be barefoot. This probably started because my feet are so small it’s hard to find shoes that actually fit me outside of the kid’s section. Since most of the cute shoes I found were out of my reach anyway, why bother with shoes at all? Except in winter. I need shoes in winter.

~ I’m Really Short

Wearing my boots with the hidden heel

It’s true. I’m short. I am barely able to claim 5’1″. Which makes life really interesting. I climb on counters, I get mistaken for a kid (a lot), and Ade is over half my height. In most of my pictures you’ll see me wearing heels of some sort. Even my favorite boots have a hidden heel. I’m just short and I love it!

So there you have it. Ten random things about me. I hope you enjoyed this post and feel like you know a little more about the person behind Above My Waves.

Happy Tuesday!
