Finding Life beyond the struggles
They're here. Christmas music. I'm pretty sure when the clock struck twelve on November twenty-eighth, every other song was erased from the radio stations and replaced with Christmas songs. For the next four weeks it'll be the same songs sung over and over and over, in many different ways. For many that sounds like torture.... Continue Reading →
Happy Wednesday! I hope you all had a lovely Thanksgiving week. Unfortunately, all four of us went down for the count with sore throats and coughing last week. It was not fun. Hubby was the last one to get it and is still not feeling well. Ade was the first one to bring it home... Continue Reading →
I know that Thanksgiving as a holiday can be a bit controversial. Whatever your view on this holiday, or if it's even a national holiday in your country or not, I want you to look past the holiday on the calendar and view it as a heart evaluation. Thanksgiving isn't just a holiday on the... Continue Reading →
Bildad's speech in Chapter 18 describes the life of a wicked man, a man who has not yet been cleansed of sin. It is a hard and dark life, honestly. Job's response in Chapter 19 is a direct contrast to the kind of life Bildad describes. Job's words are still hard, but they are not... Continue Reading →
Can you believe it is already November? Not only that, we're like almost halfway through November. Just in case you're like me, I won't tell you how many weeks it is until Christmas. It might not look like it at first glance, but Chapters 16 and 17 of Job talk a lot about hope. Job's hope isn't in finding relief, it's in God. Yes, he speaks a lot about what has gone wrong in his life, but woven throughout his words we see his hope transfixed on God... Continue Reading →
I have come to the conclusion that Eliphaz the Temanite is a downer. However, if it wasn't important to us, if we couldn't glean and learn from it, I don't think it would've been included in God's Word. Despite Eliphaz's harsh speech, it is definitely meant to belittle Job, God uses it to speak of... Continue Reading →
Hello friends. How are you doing today? Has time change been in your favor or not? With two kids who sleep almost as little as their father, it hasn't had a big impact on us so far. Last night as I was sitting in the chair in Isbe's room waiting for her to go back... Continue Reading →
In the speech spanning chapters 13 and 14, Job expresses how unseen and lost he feels. His friends have so far been no help to him, as we see in his opening, and he has not heard God's answers to his questions. I believe he is frustrated, yet he continues to hold on to the... Continue Reading →
If you don't know, vacation is a wonderful time to read. We took a road trip so I had a total of twelve uninterrupted hours to read as we traveled and it was glorious. The AirBnB we stayed at also had the perfect chair to curl up in and read, which is what I did... Continue Reading →
