Happy Friday! I’ll be honest, I forgot it was Friday. It feels like a Saturday to me though I’m not sure why, probably just wishful thinking. Not only is it Friday but it’s the First Friday of June so you know what that means! Fitness Friday!!! On this wonderful Friday (not Saturday), I want to share with you my thoughts about the FitOn App.
What FitOn App Offers
I first saw this app advertised, I believe, on Instagram. I decided to try it because it was free and had a lot of options when it came to workouts.
There are so many options from Yoga to Kickboxing, Cardio to Barre, Stretching to Meditation, Prenatal to With Kids. They even have workouts for small spaces, to do at work. Whatever your workout needs are, chances are they can fulfill it. You can even choose workouts based on a targeted area, how long you want to workout, and the intensity level. You can also choose what workouts you do based on the trainer or celebrity presenting the workouts.
If you prefer taking live classes, they have multiple live classes daily. You can look at what’s coming up that day or view the full schedule for the next few days. If there’s a class you’re interested in taking, you can join the class in advance and the app will notify you when it’s about to start. Don’t worry about the class being too hard or being unprepared, either. Each workout will give you an Intensity Level as well as a list of any equipment you’ll need for that workout.
Have questions about a healthy lifestyle? The FitOn App is here to help with their Advice Section. Their advice section includes:

Workout with Friends
Want to workout with your friends separately? There’s an option for that! Invite a friend to join your workout, share your badges with each other, and even share when you’re starting a new workout program. Share workouts and progress with those closest to you.
Want to try FitOn Pro for free? For every friend you invite who signs up and completes a workout, you earn 1 week of FitOn Pro for free!
What’s Your Fitness Goal?
When you sign up, you have the option to create a workout plan based on your fitness goals. You can choose from seven different goal plans. Do you want to:
- Be More Active
- Lose Weight
- Stay Toned
- Build Muscle
- Reduce Stress
- Or do you need a plan for fitness during while being Prenatal or Postnatal?
On top of that, you choose:
- The duration of your plan (beginning with four weeks)
- How many workouts you do per week
- How long you want the workouts to be
One of the great things about these options is if your goals change, you can change your plans, too.
While everything I’ve listed so far is completely free, there are a few options you can get if you decide to go FitOn Pro. When you sign up for Pro, you get to choose between Six Months or a Year long subscription. With the subscription you get:
- Personalized Meal Plans
- 500+ Exclusive Recipes
- Unlimited Offline Downloads
- Premium Music from Top Artists
Probably the biggest benefit for going Pro would be their meal plan. At least in my opinion. A meal plan is automatically made to go along with whatever workout goal plan you choose when you sign up, but you’re not limited to that specific plan.
You can also browse recipes that are
- Easy to Make
- Suggested from a Specific Trainer
- For a specific diet (like Vegan)
From the beginning I have been tempted to sign up for FitOn Pro simply for the meal plan options. So far, though, I have resorted to searching for the recipes on Pinterest or on the FitOn Blog. After much deliberation, I have decided that I am okay doing it this way. However, if the powers that be ever decide to make the meal plan option free, I will send them a personal thank you e-mail.
Unlimited Offline Downloads
Okay this would be a great option, especially if you live in a spotty internet area or if you’re going on vacation. Otherwise, I, personally, do not see the point of needing this. Or paying for it. But that’s just me and someone else might see a great advantage in this option. If you do, just know you do have to pay for it.
From the reviews I have read on this option, the music can be distracting and will often drown out the instructor’s voice. Seeing as how there’s already music playing in the background, I don’t see this as an important must-pay-for-it option. I get wanting to workout to your favorite song. Like most people, I have a workout playlist on my iPod. However, I like being able to hear the instructor clearly, especially when I’m trying to focus more on my form and getting the exercise move correct instead of glancing every five seconds to see what the instructor is doing.
I’ve been using this app for about a month now and I love it. I wouldn’t be sharing it otherwise. I love that you don’t have to pay to use most of the features or access any of the workouts. The workouts are effective and fun. I am so glad I tried this app. I can see myself using it even after I am able to get back in the dance studio regularly.
With the options to save your favorite workouts, add other workouts you’ve done outside of the app, and the diversity of workout types, this is the perfect workout at home app.
If you’ve been looking for the perfect workout app, give FitOn a try! Trust me. I don’t think you’ll regret it.
