Hello beautiful people! I hope you all had a wonderful and joyful Christmas time. While we didn’t gather with family this year, it was still a joy to watch the kids open their presents. Thanks to a couple of Christmas gifts and a post-Christmas buy, it looks like there’ll be some new cooking adventures incoming.

For the second Christmas in a row, I received cookbooks and I am not complaining. If you like cooking but haven’t picked up a cookbook by Ree Drummond (aka The Pioneer Woman) then you need to order one asap. I already own her Dinnertime cookbook and this year I received Come and Get It. This new addition has recipes from breakfast to dessert and I am excited for them. I’m already planning on trying one of her slow cooker recipes for dinner this week. Ree’s slow cooker Barbecue Chicken recipe looks easy and delicious. Another recipe I’m looking forward to trying is her Focaccia Bread recipe. I can’t wait to try this recipe book out and of course I’ll bring you guys along for the adventures.
Cookbooks aren’t the only thing making a change in our kitchen. While out on the weekly grocery run, my hubby picked up an Instant Pot. We’ve been talking about getting one for a little while and decided to wait until after Christmas to purchase one. Since we were wanting to get rid of the deep fryer (it’s so messy, among other things) we agreed upon the Instant Pot Duo Crisp and Air Fryer. I’ll be attempting to make french fries this week as my first meal in it, so pray for me. I am really hoping having an instant pot will cut down cooking time on tasty dinners.

I hope to bring you guys many new adventures in cooking as I learn to navigate a whole new world of Instant Pot, Air Frying, and more. Not to mention a whole new recipe book to help teach me more yummy recipes.
If you own or have used an instant pot, please share any recipes or tips you may know. I am in (mostly) uncharted territory here. I promise to share how this week’s cooking adventure goes next Monday. Until then, have a safe and happy week. Happy Eating!
