The New, the Loved, and a Coffee Cup.

Does anyone have a special mug they drink their coffee out of on certain days? I get up with the kids on the weekends to let hubby sleep in and I have one mug that I use at least once. It’s a bigger mug so it’s perfect for this non-morning person.

Though the cup is funny in itself, when I first bought it I misread it. Thinking it was saying the drinker was the grumpy one, I snatched it up and didn’t look twice. It wasn’t until I got home that I realized it was saying the opposite. I felt a bit dumb when I realized what it actually said. Oh well. It keeps both of us from being grumpy.

This week, we finally took the plunge and bought Daiya’s Mac n Cheese. I’ll be making it later this week, so I’ll try to remember to let you know how it turns out. I’ve heard great reviews about it, my BFF has repeatedly told me how great it is and that I won’t be disappointed. We’ve tried their pizzas and really enjoyed them. My favorite is their Roasted Vegetable Pizza.

The beauty of Daiya foods is that they are Dairy, Soy, and Gluten Free. Before we went allergen-free, Mac n Cheese was a staple in our house. There was always at least two boxes in our pantry. Saying good-bye to it was a definite low so hopefully Daiya’s Deluxe Cheezy Mac will be delicious. I’m trying to think back and I’m pretty sure that Isbe has never actually had mac n cheese. She’s been a bit of a picky eater lately. Maybe the temptation of something new will entice her to try it.

Speaking of trying new things, who loves watching cooking shows? I do! Saturday morning I started watching Nadiya’s Time to Eat on Netflix and I loved it. The food, the accents, and the UK slang. I loved it all. The only thing was everything was in grams and milliliters. Thankfully I have a food scale that includes those measurements. I thought I was good until about halfway through the second or third episode when I realized she was not heating her oven up to Fahrenheit but Celsius! Ugh. Whoever thought it’d be a great idea for us Americans to not learn the international measures needs a good smack to the face, with a chair. Lovingly, of course. Guess I’ll be doing some studying to learn how to do conversions. Despite the issue of conversion, I’ve already pinned a couple of recipes from the show and put her cookbook on my wish list for Christmas.

If you have any tips I would love to hear them! Be looking for my review next week on the Daiya brand Deluxe Cheezy Mac. Hopefully it’ll be as excellent as I’ve heard. Happy Eating!
